Cork is commonly used for sound control in high rise condominiums or apartments. Often it is glued down to concrete with the use of adhesives. In most cases 1/4" cork is suitable for sound control in condominiums or apartments, but will vary everywhere. We suggest a thorough investigation of what the individual building by laws state if considering such a project. Underlayment comes in sheets approximately 4' x 6' or by rolls generally 400 square feet(SF). Costs for 1/4" cork material will vary widely from one region to another but a good guesstimate is $1.30 per square foot. Adhesive costs will run in the .50 to .75 SF range, all costs to be used as a general guide only.
Cost for proflex will vary widely but a 100sq$1.30 per square foot.
